In addition to his business accomplishments, Gates, along with his wife, Melinda, founded the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which is one of the world’s largest charities. Together they started the foundation in 2000 in a fight for equality in the United States and around the world. Bill Gates has become a leader in helping those less fortunate around the world. As of 2008, the Gates have donated over $28 billion to various charitable organizations. Through his personal donations, Gates has shown the importance of providing health and educational assistance to those less fortunate around the world. His generous gifts have encouraged numerous celebrities and average citizens to donate to whichever causes they deem most appropriate. By inspiring others to open their checkbooks to various charities, Gates has positively influenced the lives of countless citizens.

Bill Gates has been very successful and it is great to see that he wants to give back to the world through his foundation. I like that he picked the fight for equality because this is truly a world wide problem. I know that he has worked with many celebrities to further his own impact and that shows how much positive influence he has with others. It seems easy to identify with him and his ideals even though he is very wealthy. This makes him a great example of a leader.
ReplyDeleteI think that Hillary Clinton has many of these same leadership qualities. She has enacted many positive programs on a global scale that help women and children and she remains committed to her health care agenda. Many of the turning points in her life led her to reach out even more to others and she continues this work today. She has also enlisted the support of countless others in many of her projects and that is a tribute to her leadership capabilities. We need these leaders to provide good examples for the rest of us because we can easily lose sight of what is important.

ReplyDeleteI was not aware of the charity founded by Bill Gates and his wife. Gates clearly values helping others especially those less fortunate. Through his efforts to help others he has been an inspiration. I believe Trump has aimed to inspire others through his books and television show. Like Gates, Trump values sending a message to the public.
